Broker Position
Wanna get paid for messin’ around with boats?
How about a position where you get to do some deliveries, talk with lots of boat people, help sailors find their dream boat, and help the charter company turn their boats around? And get paid for it!! The Cruising Yacht Brokerage, based at Cove Haven, has so much business they need another broker. Narragansett Sailing Charters needs a hand during the summer months. We have carved out a position where you would primarily be a boat broker, and on a part time basis help the charter business with its workload.
As a broker you would help the sailing school students find a boat, take on internet inquiries for a buyer’s broker, and build your own customer base by finding listings. This is a year-round position as we are busy all winter. In fact, winters can be busier than the summers in the brokerage business. Fall in particular is very active as folks sell their existing boat and start looking for their new one! Income is based on work ethic, and earnings build as your customer base increases.
The Cruising Yacht Brokerage is seriously looking to add someone. You do not need a broker’s license. You should know how to sail and how to operate boat systems. After ASA 104 you should know that stuff. Mainly what you need is a strong work ethic and excellent follow-up and communication skills. We can teach you the rest. As a broker you run into folks that need their boats moved, need help learning their new boat systems and such You would be in the marine industry learning about all kinds of interesting boat stuff. The primary position is to match a boater with the right boat. Very satisfying work!
