Women Sailing and Boating Conference: Learn, Connect and Build Confidence

Join us for a one-day Women’s Sailing Conference designed to bring women together to learn, share experiences, and build practical boating skills in a supportive environment. Meet female sailors and  women with an inspiring journey. Enjoy an introductory, hands-on experience in a variety of boating topics.

 Session topics may vary based on instructor availability and space.

Workshop Topics Include:

• Docking (On the Water – Weather Permitting)

Learn essential docking techniques, including prop wash and prop walk, using spring lines, turning in place, and more.

• Rigging Basics

Get an overview of common lines and shackles, learn how to inspect rigging, and practice techniques for chasing and replacing lines.

• Navionics

Learn how to use Navionics effectively, including key features that help with trip planning and navigation.

• Navigation Fundamentals

Understand how to read a nautical chart, plot a fix, and determine your position if electronics fail.

• Diesel Engines 101

Demystify the diesel engine by learning basic maintenance tasks, including how to change fuel filters.

• Boat Systems Overview

Take a guided look at onboard systems such as the galley, mechanical components, steering, and plumbing.

• Cooking & Provisioning

Learn meal planning, safe food storage, and simple onboard recipes for a smooth sailing trip.

• How to Buy My First Boat

Get practical advice on budgeting, surveys, and what to look for when shopping for your first sailboat.

• How to Find a Crew or how to be crew on someone lese boat

Discover how to network, connect with fellow sailors, and build a confident sailing team.

How Women Conference Day Works

Participants will rotate in small groups through 1.5-hour sessions, choosing topics that interest them most.
